Online Donations
Over 1,000,000 Americans are living with HIV/AIDS right now. Today, about 5,500 people will die of AIDS worldwide. Young women, many with children, account for almost a third of all new infections in the United States.

Only some men should use AIDS drug for prevention
Only high-risk gay and bisexual men should use Gilead''s HIV drug Truvada to protect themselves from the AIDS virus, federal officials said on Thursday in the first official guidance on using the drug.
A study published last November showed that the pill, which combines two AIDS drugs, reduced the HIV infection rate by nearly 44 percent in high-risk gay and bisexual men. It worked even better if the men used the drug consistently.

Researchers criticize AIDS spending, stigma
JOHANNESBURG — Nearly 3 million lives have been saved by HIV/AIDS treatment but scarce resources are being misspent and stigma is still keeping the most vulnerable from seeking help, according to a new book by researchers commissioned by the U.N.
The failings are particularly worrying at a time when worldwide recession and donor fatigue are hurting spending on AIDS, the researchers say.
